Poo Free Parks® will install eco-friendly pet waste dispensers and biodegradable bags at 30 sites throughout the Town of Schererville by mid-May, including parks, open spaces and trails -- committing to keeping outdoor spaces clean and enjoyable for all visitors and their pets. New playground equipment and poured-in-place rubber surfacing are some of the enhancements of the Elm Ridge CBDG Improvement Project.  Both the playground and surfacing will be accessible to those with disabilities.  Other facets of the project include an ADA compliant parking space and sidewalk to access the playground.

The project was recently awarded to Gough, Inc., with construction slated to start in May.  The project is being funded by a Community Block Development Grant and Capital Improvement Bond.  Construction is scheduled to be completed in July.
